Basjkir mounted warrier. (After the Elberfeldt manuscript picture 17 c, dated 5.4.1814.)
The Basjkirs, a Turk people inhabiting southeast Russia between the rivers Ural and Volga. Like other nomadic tribes, such as Tatars, Kalmucks etc., they joined the Russian cavalry during the campaign against Napoleon 1813-14.

You can hardly talk about any uniform since they appeared in their national costumes. Their armament was often ancient, bow and arrow being common. The horses were often small, tough and with good staying power of Mongolian type. These horses managed to make the long march trough the entire Europe from Ural and back under very trying conditions.
